Title : Nature of fish migration and distance, families migratory, fish way system component and functions in construction dam (barrage)

Abstract:

This review paper is about the fisheries and importance of fishes   to ecological and reproductive habits of individual fish species or fish communities in aquatic ecosystem. Human interferences as man-made barriers to fish migration i.e. hydroelectric dam for restoring rivers, wet land adversely affect fishes. The database Global Register of Migratory Species (GROMS) in which more than 1000 migratory fish species information have been incorporated. Type of fish migration in riverine and estuarine region belongs to four different type of migration Anadromous, Catadromous, Potamodromous and Diadromous. The ecology of fishes define fish life as Migratory families, Distances Migrated, Spawning periods,   Dam and Migratory Species, in ecosystem. Hydro acoustic monitoring, when fish migrates and restoring Hilsa sp. in Narmada River near Bhadbhut and population statistics of fishermen and their fishing infrastructure have been studied. Constrain to fisheries is paucity of information and to overcome such problems fisheries scientists have come out with development and growth of fisheries.  The fish way system and fish ladders and other mechanisms, components and function are discussed in following sections.
