Biography:
Prof. Ka Hou Chu received his bachelor degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1976 and completed his PhD study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/Wood Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program in Oceanography in 1984. He is now a research professor at the School of Life Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and was the first Director of the school. He is also an associate head of the New Asia College, CUHK as well as Li Dak Sum Chair Professor of Ningbo University, China. Prof. Chu has diverse interests in marine science and published over 210 papers. His primary research focus is marine biology and biotechnology, molecular systematics and ecology, fisheries and aquaculture, and biodiversity conservation. He serves as associate editor in three international journals.
