Biography:
Dr. Ahmed Riyaz Jauharee began his career in 1991 at the Maldives Ministry of Education, specializing in curriculum development. At the Ministry his biggest achievement was the introduction of Fisheries Science into school curricula. In 2008, he joined the Maldives Marine Research Centre, where his research focused on tuna and the livebait fishery. Dr. Jauharee has contributed to numerous books and peer-reviewed scientific journals, sharing research widely within the academic community. He currently serves as Dean of the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences at the Maldives National University. He holds a PhD in Functional Ecology from the University of Montpellier, France, and an MASc in Tropical Marine Ecology and Fisheries Biology from James Cook University, Australia.
