Biography:

Angkasa Putra is a Ph.D. researcher at the Biodiversity and Evolutionary Genomics Laboratory within the Interdisciplinary Program of Marine and Fisheries Sciences and Convergent Technology at Pukyong National University in Busan, Republic of Korea. He holds a fellowship from the Global Bluefood Leadership Program, funded by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea, which supports his pursuit of a doctoral degree. Throughout his academic career, he has been awarded a series of prestigious scholarships that have supported his education from primary and secondary school through undergraduate studies in Indonesia, followed by master’s and doctoral programs in South Korea. These achievements reflect a sustained record of academic excellence and a long-standing commitment to scholarly development. His research expertise centers on the biological sciences, with particular emphasis on molecular biology and genomics, bioinformatics, biodiversity and biogeography, molecular systematics and phylogenetics, ecology and evolutionary biology, population and landscape genetics, and genetic conservation. To date, he has published more than 20 articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals and has actively presented his research findings at numerous scientific conferences. Although ichthyology constitutes his principal area of research, his broader interests encompass diverse animal taxa distributed across Southeast and South Asia, the Korean Peninsula, parts of Africa, and the Antarctic region, spanning ecosystems ranging from terrestrial and freshwater to brackish, marine, and polar environments.
