Biography:
Hiroshi Taniguchi is an entrepreneur and independent marine research enthusiast who has resided in Fiji for over 22 years. As the CEO of Free Bird Institute, he manages educational institutions while conducting field surveys on Fijian coastal fisheries and marine ecology. His fieldwork notably led to expanding the documented geographic habitat of the Dorab wolf-herring by 3,000 kilometers in the South Pacific. His current research interests focus on traditional fishing practices, community-based resource awareness, and the socio-economics of seafood consumption in Pacific Island nations.
