Biography:
Ms. Zixin Shen is a student at Guangdong Experimental High School in China with research interests in aquatic animal health, molecular biology, and host-pathogen interactions. The current project examines how arylsulfatase-mediated glycosaminoglycan sulfation influences white spot syndrome virus burden in Pacific white shrimp. Research experience includes genome annotation, recombinant enzyme assays, RNA-interference experiments, glycosaminoglycan quantification, and qPCR-based viral-load analysis. Future study interests include biological sciences, aquatic animal immunity, and sustainable disease prevention in aquaculture.
