Title : Treatment of bacterial infection in fishes using bioactive compounds
Abstract:
Bacterial infections are major threat to aquaculture. Antibiotics are used for treating the infections. Antibiotics can cause resistance. Pigment-producing endophytic fungus was isolated for treating the bacterial infections in fishes. The crude extract from the endophytic fungus was used to treat the bacterial manifestations caused by the pathogen. Invitro antibacterial activity of the extract was tested against the pathogen. Invitro antioxidant activity was also performed using the isolated compound. The isolated bioactive compound was effective in treating the bacterial infections in fishes and can used as an alternative for treating the bacterial infections.
