Biography:
Joni Lee Giovanna Hesley, Education Director Emerita, has a multidisciplinary background that includes a Master of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, a Master of Education, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts. With 30+ years of experience teaching Science, Math, and Engineering, she integrates STEM and art through school-based aquaculture and hydroponic garden programs. Her work includes community outreach, university-supported curriculum development, and mentoring interns. She has delivered multiple presentations through the WAC and university venues. Her mission focuses on using aquaculture/hydroponics and art to enhance engagement, retention, and expression in STEM education.
